01.09.07 New translation contract
Established in 1994, the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union (www.cdt.europa.eu) handles the translation work of various European Union agencies. The office in Luxemburg currently employs a staff of over 180, including 100 translators. Roughly 50% of the translation work is outsourced to external translation agencies, with contracts awarded following an open tender process.
In April 2007, the Translation Centre put a medical translation assignment out to tender. Overtaal responded and again succeeded in winning a multiyear contract with the Translation Centre, this time for medical translations.
