06.01.2010 Happy New Year!
The entire staff of Overtaal language services wish you a prosperous, healthy and successful 2010!
For the business unit “EU Translations”, 2009 proved a relatively quiet year. Although the EU Parliament election and the appointment of the second Barroso Commission resulted in a lull in political activity in Brussels and Strasbourg, Overtaal nonetheless translated a substantial volume of documents for EU institutions, including European Parliament debates, including those about the elections, held in Q4 2008, various documents for a wide range of EU agencies and a range of texts for the European Commission, more specifically texts for the eāJustice Portal.
The business unit “Translations” was also kept on its toes by the many companies and government authorities which called on Overtaal’s services. The translation projects completed ranged from information brochures for international students at a Dutch university to safety regulations for a dredging company and information brochures about New Influenza A (H1N1).
Our business unit “Localisation” rounded off a busy year, with demanding workloads from various software suppliers, including SAP AG and Oracle.
Finally, last year, the business unit “Language Training” successfully competed in a tender to provide language training services for Dutch Railways (NS). Overtaal will provide various language training courses for NS train guards and other staff this year.
In 2010, we will once again offer a rapid service for accurate translations, customised language training and made-to-measure editing services.
We look forward to meeting your needs in 2010!
